Switch from EE to Vodafone
Keep your phone number when you switch from EE to Vodafone. Here's how in 3 simple steps.
Switching from EE to Vodafone appeals to customers looking for Vodafone's global roaming benefits and entertainment bundles included with many plans. Vodafone offers strong UK coverage on its own dedicated network and regularly runs competitive deals on flagship devices. The switching process is regulated by Ofcom, making it quick and hassle-free.
Important Warning
Do NOT cancel your contract manually. If you cancel before transferring your number, you will lose it permanently. Your old contract will automatically cancel once the transfer completes.
Pre-Switch Checklist
- Back up your data: Contacts, voicemails, and saved messages won't transfer.
- Unlock your phone: Ensure it's not locked to your old network if you plan to keep using it.
- Check Early Termination Fees: Text INFO to 85075 to see if you'll incur charges for leaving early.
How to Switch from EE to Vodafone
Get your PAC code from EE
Text PAC to 65075 from your EE phone to receive your PAC code instantly via text message. If you prefer speaking to someone, call EE on 150 from your EE phone or 0800 079 8586 from any other phone. You can also request your PAC code through your My EE account at ee.co.uk. The PAC code is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
Give your PAC to Vodafone
Visit vodafone.co.uk to browse plans and choose one that suits you. During the ordering process, you will be asked if you want to keep your existing number - select yes and enter your PAC code from EE. You can also visit a Vodafone store or call Vodafone on 0333 304 0191 to set up your new plan and provide the PAC code.
Wait 1 working day
After Vodafone processes your PAC code, your EE number will transfer to Vodafone within 1 working day. Vodafone will send you a confirmation text with the scheduled transfer date. On switch day, your EE service will disconnect and your Vodafone SIM will activate carrying your old number. There may be a brief window of up to 2 hours with no service.
Transfer Cut-off Times: Submitting your PAC code before 5:30 PM usually means your number will transfer the next working day. Submitting it after 5:30 PM or on weekends/bank holidays will add an extra working day to the process.
Final Bill: You'll receive a final bill from EE shortly after the transfer is complete. This covers your usage up to the date of the switch.
Things to Check Before Switching
Text INFO to 85075 from your EE phone to see your contract end date and any early termination fees. Check if you have any outstanding device payments with EE, as these remain payable even after switching. Ensure your phone is unlocked for use on other networks, and note down any Wi-Fi calling or visual voicemail settings you may want to reconfigure on Vodafone.
Different Network Coverage
EE and Vodafone both operate their own independent network infrastructure across the UK. Vodafone has been expanding its 5G rollout and offers strong 4G coverage nationwide. However, coverage can differ between the two networks depending on your location, so check Vodafone's coverage at vodafone.co.uk/network/status-checker before committing to a switch.
