Switch from EE to Lebara
Keep your phone number when you switch from EE to Lebara. Here's how in 3 simple steps.
Moving from EE to Lebara lets you keep your phone number while often cutting your monthly bill significantly. Lebara runs on the Vodafone network, so you'll be switching away from EE's infrastructure entirely. Lebara is particularly popular with customers who make international calls, thanks to their inclusive international minutes to dozens of countries. The switching process takes just one working day once your PAC code is submitted.
Important Warning
Do NOT cancel your contract manually. If you cancel before transferring your number, you will lose it permanently. Your old contract will automatically cancel once the transfer completes.
Pre-Switch Checklist
- Back up your data: Contacts, voicemails, and saved messages won't transfer.
- Unlock your phone: Ensure it's not locked to your old network if you plan to keep using it.
- Check Early Termination Fees: Text INFO to 85075 to see if you'll incur charges for leaving early.
How to Switch from EE to Lebara
Get your PAC code from EE
Text PAC to 65075 from your EE phone and you'll get your PAC code back by SMS within a minute. You can also call EE on 150 from your EE handset or 0800 079 8586 from a different phone. A third option is logging into your account at ee.co.uk and requesting the PAC online. EE's retention team might try to offer you a better deal — just say no if you've made up your mind. Your PAC stays valid for 30 days from the moment it's issued.
Give your PAC to Lebara
Order your Lebara SIM online or pick one up from a retailer. Once you have your Lebara SIM and have activated it, submit your PAC code through the Lebara app or your online account at lebara.co.uk. You can also call Lebara customer services on 5588 from your Lebara SIM or 0207 031 0791 from any other phone to provide the PAC. Make sure you give them the correct number you want to bring across.
Wait 1 working day
The number port will be processed on the next working day after Lebara receives your PAC. You'll receive a confirmation text with the exact switch date. When the port happens, your EE SIM goes dead and your Lebara SIM starts carrying your old number. Keep your phone charged and both SIMs accessible on the transfer day. Your EE account closes automatically — no separate cancellation needed on your part.
Transfer Cut-off Times: Submitting your PAC code before 5:30 PM usually means your number will transfer the next working day. Submitting it after 5:30 PM or on weekends/bank holidays will add an extra working day to the process.
Final Bill: You'll receive a final bill from EE shortly after the transfer is complete. This covers your usage up to the date of the switch.
Things to Check Before Switching
Check your final EE bill situation before you go. If you're on a device plan with remaining payments, the outstanding balance will be charged to you. Any early termination fee for leaving your airtime contract early will also apply. Make sure your handset is unlocked for use on Vodafone's network — phones bought from EE after December 2021 are sold unlocked, but older ones may need unlocking via ee.co.uk or by calling 150. Also note that Lebara is SIM-only, so you'll need to bring your own phone.
Different Network Coverage
Lebara operates on the Vodafone network, which has different coverage from EE. Before switching, check coverage at vodafone.co.uk/coverage-checker using your postcode. Indoor coverage can vary quite a bit between EE and Vodafone, especially in rural or semi-rural locations, so it's worth checking everywhere you spend significant time.
