What does this mean???
The underlying OS doesn't care and neither do applications. If you have a text-entry field and you "click" on it, the soft keyboard will pop up and allow you to enter text. This will be the way Android functions - on both the G2 and the G1. -

About G1
Advantages:
1.Many applications so far have been made for it hardware keyboard.
2.Simple to get root on.
Disadvantages:
1.Smaller memory than in G2.
2.Needs to be rotated every time you need to enter text.
3.Might not get full data access from Vodafone.
About G2 (HTC Magic).
Advantages:
1.New contract so i will be guaranteed full data services access.
2.Nicer looking phone
Disadvantages:
1.No hardware keyboard.
2. Most applications are designed for G1, so may not work on G2(HTC Magic). -
