This phone is great for a first phone! I am always on it and the battery lasts for ages! There are so many apps and and its not complicated to work out. It is a great price ($100) which is worth $450 in some places. Definetly get it if you need a phone that you just want to txt and make calls with. The phone dos'nt come with a memory card but I don't think you need one. Like why would you want to keep 500 messages? I just keep important messages and delete the rest! I totally recommend this phone!

This phone is the most awful thing I've ever owned. I honestly just want to throw it out the window. I press a button or the touch screen and sometimes have to wait up to 10s for the phone to respond. I miss half of my calls because no matter how many times I press the "answer" button, the phone just wouldn't respond. A phone is useless when I can’t even pick up a call more than half of the time!
The battery life is 1-day. It’s not straight forward to go to the “speaker phone” function. Even after I’ve turned all the alarms off, the alarm still goes off for some very strange reason.
This is the most frustrating piece of junk I’ve ever bought.

I've had this phone for 3 months now and its awsome. the battery life is ok but if your one of those people who are constenly texting then yeh you'll need to charge it ever now and again it has loads of apps on it like facebook, bebo, twitter, skype, myspace, friendster, youtube, and loads more. you can put a password in to keep your messages and bits safe from intruders. You can get phone accessories for it and cases. i love it x

OH plus. Battery life is good by my standards. And I'd have to say that's pretty decent because I'm one of those ppl that's too lazy to charge my mobile or laptop.
Maybe you have to make sure that when you first get it out of the box, fully charge it before you use it? That's what I did. Even though I wanted to start playing it the moment I got it.

I have had the phone for about a week now and would highly recommend to someone looking for an iPhone-type phone without the ridiculous price tag.
I prefer the small size compared to other touch phones, I find it strange that phones are getting bigger instead of smaller!
I haven't had trouble with phone quality as other ppl have said. And about A-GPS, I never use it. So I'm not too bothered since I have no idea what it is anyway.
I'm really happy with what you get for the price tag (I got mine less than AUD200). Exceeds expectations.
    Cons
    - No phone suite for Macs
    - Can't seem to configure phone lock so that I can keep nosey ppl out of my phone during the day. And if I ever lose it, I don't want ppl racking up a huge phone bill. Maybe I haven't set things up properly coz the only way I've figured it out is if the phone is turned off then on.

Bought this at Target here in Australia for $150 as a Mother's Day gift. What a bargain! Great little phone. Very intuitive and responsive interface. Great entry level phone for someone who just mainly uses gmail, SMS and makes calls. Loses a point for mediocre call quality.

The s5600 is similar to the s5230. They both have 3.2mp camera, but the s5600 has flash. If you are looking for a decent phone for around £80-£90, I would suggest the s5230. But if you are looking for a phone with 3G and a flash camera for around £120-£130, the s5600 is yours.

i am recieving this phone tomoro, i am a bit comfused as to the reviews on here ... why on earth do u need to store 500 txts anyway ? why do u want gps when there are sat navs? as for the talk time battery life i thought mobiles wre for when u are out and someone needed to get in touch with u not really fo hours of general conversation?

having 500 sms, 200 inbox, 200 outbox and 100 saved is nothing bad for people who know how to use a phone...u can soo easily delete whatever takes up too much space--- it isnt rocket science!

the battery isnt THT bad, it only drains quicker if you leave the bluetooth on all the time...otherwise its finee.

    Hey!
I'm going to buy a mobile and I was just wondering if you could tell me which is better - samsung s5600 or s5230? I know that s5600 has GPS and 3G which s5230 does not include. Unfortunately, the battery is not long-lived.. Can you help me please?
    Thanks in advance.

why do you all complain about the bad points are you forgetting the elegance of the phone, the sheer beauty of the way it sits in your hand and you can text with such ease of 1 hand which is handy for me as i walk with a stick, the notes you can make using the memo pad incoporated in the widget bar and just all the other gadgets that comes incoportated in the phone.

As i recall mobiles aren't designed for long term use i.e over 3 hours talking, if your using your phone that much maybe you should look into a landline, and gps...get a chuffin sat nav if it means that much to you!
As for text messages 500 thats ample amount for normal people there is the option called delete to make more space you know!

on the whole i would recomend this phone to anyone looking for a nice easy to use touch screen phone!

There is no GPS in this phone only google maps, so it works only with gprs connection and it's not A-GPS!
